Sunflower
Helianthus Annus :
Ornamental sunflowers that can be sown virtually all year round. Depending on
temperatures during the growing period, the flowers should be ready for cutting
between 65 -130 days after sowing. The plants germinate quickly and uniformly,
growing to a height between 90 and 150 cm. Flower size can be altered by
adjusting the plant density and it is an ideal for the cut flower market due to
the flowers lack of pollen and long shelf life.

An
ideal cut flower hybrids with golden-yellow petals and dark brown disks,
completely devoid of pollen. The dorit petals are slightly deeper
yellow. The inflorescence's size is relatively large and it partly
dictated by the plant population and by the amount of water the plant
absorbed. Depending on the temperatures, the flower may be ready for
cutting 65-130 days after sowing. Dorit is usually 7-10 days later than
Orit. Both varieties are cold resistant and can be sown at least two
weeks earlier than standard varieties in spring. |
