Available in 1 lb and 5 lb packs. Seed counts vary from  9 - 15,000 per lb. (average +/- 11,000 per lb).

Artichoke.  Cynara scolymus  Green Globe, Imperial Star, Emerald, Colorado Star (Red).

Suitable for growth in a wide range of conditions but do best in frost free areas and winter temperatures should not drop below 25oF. Seed at 1.0 to 1.5  lbs per acre for a plant population 2,2oo to 3,500 per acre   This is means  about 4 feet between rows and 2 - 3 feet plant spacing along the row. Plant density will affect the size of the globe so space the plants according to your particular markets.  A higher plant density (more plants per acre) means greater competition and smaller chokes.  Artichoke seed must under go vernalization, different varieties require slightly different vernalization temperatures.
